As I hopped into a mall and had a scoop of ice cream, I know this is the time when temperature rises and the United Arab Emirates arrives with a familiar yet ever-evolving chapter of the year. Summer in the UAE is not merely a season defined by soaring temperatures – it is a period of transition, reflection and preparation especially with another new month just around the corner. For someone like me raised in the UAE all my life the sweltering heat is not something to complain about but I do feel the heat which could make me infuriated at times.
The final school bells have rung, classrooms are giving way to long-awaited holidays, and families across the Emirates are busy packing bags, planning vacations or enrolling children in summer camps and also many planning to staycate. Airports will soon witness their annual rush as residents head to their favourite destinations, while many others choose to explore the quieter side of the UAE through indoor attractions.
For working professionals like me summer signals a different rhythm. Offices are once again buzzing with meetings, project deadlines and strategic planning as organisations continue to embrace flexible working models that promote productivity while recognising employee well-being.
As another UAE summer unfolds, it is not simply about enduring the heat. It is about embracing change, appreciating the country's ability to innovate, and welcoming a season that quietly prepares us for new beginnings.
