The FIFA World Cup has brought welcome change and joy in the stress of the last three months of strife among Iran, Israel, USA, etc.
It is a pleasure to see football unite various nations and cultures in a unifying sport. During these six weeks, we forget our wars and differences and enjoy a global carnival of colour, celebration and competition.
I have watched the FIFA World Cup matches in diverse countries like Brazil, Yemen, UAE, India etc., over the years from 1998 onwards. Everywhere the football fever is intense and glorious. Thanks to FIFA for this great global festival.
