After we've expressed our satisfaction with a company's service we are almost always asked by them to give them a glowing Google Review. And if I've been genuinely happy with their service, I have provided that review. But here's something I didn't know and maybe you didn't either and I just discovered that companies don’t know this either. I discovered that Google only allows a user to provide one review per company.
If, for example, you wrote a company review six months earlier and had further interactions with the same company, perhaps with different staff, unfortunately you cannot add an additional review. You have to either delete your first review, something you might not want to do, or edit your existing review, which isn't really what the company wanted. My question is: why can't a customer add further reviews if they've had new interactions with new staff?
So we learn something new every day. Here's another thing I learnt, and I'm quite astounded by this. I didn't know that bamboo could grow up to 35 inches in a single day. And here’s something that’s even more astonishing. I see hummingbirds quite a bit and I was surprised to learn that their hearts can beat between 500 to 1,200 beats per minute. And if you’ve ever wondered why their wings seem almost invisible, it’s because they can flap them around 10 to 80 times in just a single second.
Now I didn't know that in some European countries it’s illegal to flush a toilet after a certain time at night. They value their peace and, apparently, the sound of a flushing toilet can be heard by all the neighbours; they must have really thin walls. It’s also unacceptable in some countries to order a cappuccino in the afternoon. This beverage is considered a morning beverage and is unavailable after lunch.
Did you know that in the UK there was a time when it was illegal to stick a postage stamp upside down on an envelope, even if it was done unintentionally? At the time it was considered disrespectful to Queen Elizabeth II whose head was on the stamp.
Now if you look up at a clear sky with no light interference you’ll see trillions upon trillions of stars. But did you know that there are more trees on earth than all the visible stars put together? Did you also know that Australia has more sheep than it does people?
Did you know that the average home contains around 300,000 items yet most of them are rarely used or seen and this includes shoes and clothes? Think of it this way, many people cannot help buying tons and tons of clothes but in reality they only wear around 20%, or even less, of what's in their wardrobe.
Now we all love to watch a good dinosaur movie but did you know that some believe that they may not have existed at all? However, there are some theories. In ancient times, people were a lot taller. They were giants, growing up to around 60 feet in height. Now if they were that tall, it’s possible that the animals around them would have been a tad bigger in size too. If today’s lizards were a lot bigger, you’d think they were dinosaurs. That’s one theory.
Another is that no one has actually ever found a fully intact dinosaur skeleton. Some theories suggest that the odd bones they’ve found were those belonging to giant people but because not everyone believes that people were once giants, they automatically used the bones to fit their dinosaur theory. They then used computer programs to create skeletons from the bones and their ideas of what dinosaurs might have looked like based on the lizard theory.
A third theory is that these giant bones didn’t belong to humans or dinosaurs but to flying dragons. I’m not saying that dinosaurs didn’t exist because if God saw in his wisdom to put dinosaurs on earth, then who are we to question it? However, we’ve not really come across any real evidence that dinosaurs or dragons ever existed but it’s an exciting notion isn’t it?
