Come March 28, the 19th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) will begin. It has become a festival for cricket-lovers across the globe. Everybody who loves, plays or watches cricket waits for this moment anywhere in the world. Now I have been in the UAE for many years so I watch all the matches at home on television but once I had the opportunity to watch a match in Kolkata, India, years ago. I could not believe how I felt. It was an incredible feeling to be in the stadium with excited fans. What makes the IPL extraordinary is the great mix of players — senior players from India, foreign players and uncapped Indian players all come together for this tournament. Young Indian players get to share the stage with the likes of M. S. Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jaspreet Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Jofra Archer, Cameron Green, Liam Livingstone, Josh Hazlewood, Marco Jansen and many more. This unique mix of players makes this tournament great.
