This refers to your report “Wholesale prices of Vegetables crash at Koyambedu, amid glut, poor demand,” in your edition dated 31.01.2026. However, in reality, it is not reflected in the retail market. No vegetable is available for less than Rs.60 to Rs.80 per kg.
The report state that the rates of vegetables range only from Rs.10 to Rs.30 per kg. We feel it would be nice if the state governments take initiative to open vegetable shops, at all important places in the city, and sell them at a subsidised rate.
If there is a will, there is a way. Since the assembly election is due shortly, this could be a point to ponder for all the political parties in Tamil Nadu.
