The year 2025 was very difficult globally. The war in Ukraine shows no sign of abating. Both Russia and Ukraine are adamant with their demands, which themselves are not very lucid. Whilst the bombings in Gaza have stopped, there is no peace-keeping force finalised till now.
Runaway inflation, especially in foods, has caused immense hardship across income segments in most countries. Medicines and hospitalisation costs are also rising. Migrants to the West are facing hardships; many are returning to their home countries without any savings.
They will not find it easy to get suitable jobs in their home countries, at short notice. A surplus of talent or human resources in developing countries in Asia and Africa will depress wages, at a time when inflation is exacting. Unfortunately, there are no concrete plans to improve the lot of the common man. There is promise and rhetoric, but little concrete action. Sad indeed.
