Congratulations to the South Africa Women’s Cricket team for their laboured victory over the Bangladesh team, who fought till the end. But for the century partnership of Kapp & Tyron, especially when their team was reeling at 85 for 5, it could have been the biggest upset of this World Cup Tournament.
In fact this is the second time during this Tournament South Africa has bounced back from a losing position. First they did it against the much hyped Indian team. With these victories, they seem to have wiped out the tag of “chokers” and are going to be the team to watch.
Incidentally, our Women in Blue seem to be struggling to defend even 330 runs. Our bowlers, like our men’s team, do strike early, but struggle to bowl out their opponents and lose from the winning position. If this is going to continue, we are afraid, it is going to be another disappointing World Cup for our women in blue. Our captain has to pull up her socks and lead the team from the front.
