Congratulations to our Men in Blue, who convincingly defeated Pakistan team in the Super 4 Asia Cup Tournament in Dubai on Sunday, dated Sept. 21, 2025. This Pakistan team had a hurricane start and were going strong @ 9 runs per over till the 10th over, when the slide started. But they could add only 80 runs in the second half and the way they were coasting the target was less by at least 20 runs.
Though they had a world-class bowler in Shaheen Shah Afridi, he was taken to the cleaners by Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill. Of course, our world-class bowlers Bumrah and Pandya too suffered the same fate.
Our openers gave a rollicking stand for India by scoring @ 10 per over. Though there were some hiccups, the required run rate for our middle order batsmen was too low and they won by 6 wickets. No doubt, it was an easy victory.
But the comments of our Captain that our Asian & World Cup matches victory records are in our favour is not digestible, as in sports, winning and losing is a part and parcel of any team. He should have avoided this during his interview. Win or lose — be sporting!
