It’s so timely and loud and clear instruction by the Dubai’s Events Security Committee that has called on cricket fans attending the highly anticipated Asia Cup clash between India and Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium to uphold sportsmanship and adhere to rules and regulations (“Dubai urges fans to respect law, embrace sportsmanship during India-Pakistan Asia Cup clash,” Sept.13, Gulf Today website).
There’s no doubt that India and Pakistan are cricket crazy nations. Any sports activity plays a vital role in bringing two nations closer, not divide them. We, Indian and Pakistani people, must embrace sportsmanship during the India-Pakistan Asia Cup clash and represent our countries with the image of love, respect and care for each other.
Cricket fans, spectators present in the ground during the match, and people who are watching matches on the TV screens must keep in their mind the love, care, friendship and closeness of players they have for each other. They play cricket against each other but at the same time they do respect each other from the core of their hearts. I hope people from both sides, India and Pakistan, adopt the firm resolution that they will enjoy the clash of the world’s best cricket teams — no matter who is going to win or lose — enjoy the sport and send messages of love, care and respect for each other.
