Once again, Pakistan is under the shadow of devastating floods — lives lost, land submerged, and millions affected. Yet, this is not the first such calamity. The Federal Flood Commission records nearly two dozen major floods in our history, the worst being in 2010. At that time, some termed it divine punishment. But the true punishment has always been incompetent management.
For an agricultural country, floods are not a curse but a blessing. They bring water reserves to end scarcity and fertile soil to revive barren lands. Nations that plan wisely turn floods into opportunity.
In God’s world, every trial hides goodness. But that goodness belongs only to those who prepare to claim it. For the unprepared, there is only ruin.
