It’s a huge number of Afghan deaths in one of the deadliest earthquakes in decades. According to various reports, the death toll from a powerful earthquake that struck eastern Afghanistan has risen to over 800, which is so sad and painful (“Afghanistan earthquake death toll more than 800,” Sept.1, Gulf Today website).
According to the report, Some 800 people died and another 2,500 were injured in Kunar, spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid told a press conference in the capital Kabul, adding that the toll of 12 dead and 255 injured in Nangarhar province had not changed.
It’s a time for the world to help Afghan brothers and sisters in their hardship, coping with the after effects of a powerful earthquake. I am sure that the Taliban government of Afghanistan will not leave any stone unturned and will save the lives of its people who are still trapped in their destroyed homes.
