After a month of respite from the scorching heat it’s that time of the year again; the great back-to-school migration is upon us. Back in my days’ time there was no such frenzy for us. I bought my books, maybe a couple of pens, packed my heavy bags and off I went fit as a fiddle.
There were no back to school selfies, pamphlets, music, decorations and celebrations set up. At times I used to walk to reach my school and that was in the afternoon shift so try to reckon the terrible heat but I used to love it.
To add there were no Pinterest-worthy lunchboxes, no personalised water bottles with motivational quotes, and definitely no traffic updates.
I am deciding how would I commute as I would not be able to stand the traffic where streets will soon be filled with honking cars, parents clutching coffee cups and sanity by a thread, and students looking like they’re heading to a runway rather than a classroom.
