An unfortunate event of heavy rains and flash floods, which reportedly killed more than 350 people and completely destroyed a village due to cloudbursts in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, has made the whole country sad (“Pakistan resumes rescue operations in flood-hit areas,” Aug.18, Gulf Today website).
According to the report, authorities in Pakistan resumed rescue and relief work on Monday in the country's northwest where flash floods have killed over 300 people after heavy rain forced them to suspend operations for several hours, a government official said.
Pakistani authorities have to relocate the population from the hilly areas, where the rains caused flash floods as well as mud and rock slides that washed away houses, buildings, vehicles and belongings.
It’s the need of the hour to take climate change seriously otherwise it will have unbearable consequences because now the disastrous climate change has affected the whole world in the form of heatwaves, wildfires, heavy rain and flooding.
I hope the world will join hands against global warming because now climate change has become the biggest threat to the existence of the world.
