Our legendary opener Sunil Gavaskar is dead right that some of our cricketers, who played the Test series against England, do need some rest. It is more so, as our team is scheduled to play the WTC Test series against West Indies and South Africa in coming months.
We do need a fit squad of 15 to take on both these teams, who are no pushovers, even in India. He is prudent on the past of our selectors to rest some of the overworked players like Jasprit Bumrah, Subhman Gill, Mohd Siraj and even Akash Deep to be cent per cent fit to play the Test series against West Indies and South Africa. Fortunately there is no dearth of talented youngsters to fill the gap.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi is a dynamic opener, who would be the best partner for Jaiswal. Then we have Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, Axer Patel, Subham Dubey, Sanju Samson to follow.
The pace bowlers could be Arshdeep Singh and Prasidh Krishna and spinners Kuldeep Yadav, Washington Sundar & Bishnoi. Well, if there is a will, there is a way!
