A fine corporate leader of India and a sensitive boss of mine passed away recently. Susim Datta was a memorable Chairman of Unilever India, who impacted the course of the business.
His achievements in the company, through various acquisitions and mergers, changed the direction and future of the company. He also trained hundreds of managers like me, who looked up to him for inspiration and guidance. He was a very kind and gentle person.
Mr. Datta cared for everyone he met and had a unique rapport with everyone he met. He never forgot the name of any person he ever met. His wisdom and counsel will always be missed.
