It is heartening to see our young cricket captain, Shubman Gill, notching up his second century at Edgbaston Test to anchor the team to a reasonable total at the end of day one.
Though the captaincy has not weighed on his batting performances, he is yet to prove his captaincy credentials, especially not to lose the Test from winning positions. He should also be firm in selection of players, based on horses for courses.
Well played Jaiswal, Karun, Gill — Jadeja to take the score to 310 for 5. Hope your players would not repeat their ‘harakiri’ of losing the remaining five wickets for a meagre total. Wishing you and the team all success.
