I always feel that social media has given a new lease of life to yesteryear’s Bollywood actresses. Many Bollywood stars are active on social media these days, like Zeenat Aman, Mumtaz, Madhuri Dixit, Kajol, Raveena Tandon, Sonali Bendre, Bhagyashree, Somi Ali, Pooja Bhatt, Shilpa Shriodkar, Dia Mirza and more. I had not heard of many of these stars for a very long time, like Zeenat Aman, Mumtaz or Sonali, but social media has given them a platform to talk about themselves.
Earlier senior stars would go into oblivion after their great career, which was a bad thing for their fans. Bollywood fans want to keep in touch with their stars, which social media is providing them nicely. Even now, I get to listen to them on different YouTube platforms. It is wonderful to see them and listen to their experiences. This is one of the best things social media and YouTube have done for us. Earlier we would rely only on magazines or newspapers to know the whereabouts of seniors stars, but now Instagram is doing it. I am loving this change.
