While we are elated with the victory of Chennai Super Kings over KKR, we could only have pity for KKR, who just missed a golden chance to live for another match to qualify for the playoff chance. Incidentally, the reverse sweep of KKR Captain Rahane was the bane for KKR’s loss. This reminded us of the reverse sweep of England captain Gatting during the World Cup finals in 1987. It was a see-saw match, which continued to change the fortunes of each team, till the final over.
Thanks to the top knocks of Sivam Dube and young Dewald Brevis, who gave a thrust to the scoring and enabled Dhoni to finish the match in style. Anyway the last two matches of CSK have given a hope for its fans to aspire for better results during the next IPL Season and probably a crack at the title in 2026. We are glad that the future of CSK is in the safe hands of promising youngsters, who could improve their skills with the guidance of Thala Dhoni. Well played CSK!
