I have been living in Sharjah for two years. Before coming to Sharjah, I had worked in different cities of India. What I liked the most in Sharjah is that most motorists follow a driving discipline here.
Everybody follows rules. They all drive in their lanes and follow the speed limit religiously. People have mutual respect for each other. I have not heard of honking here. In areas like schools and residential apartments, I have seen motorists being very careful. They respect the zone where they are driving in.
I have never heard of such discipline anywhere else. Even pedestrians have a set of rules. They will only cross from designated places. I love the way people here follow traffic rules. It is the same in all the Emirates. I appreciate the UAE government for having such a wonderful atmosphere for everyone. I have never ever aspired to drive a car but now after seeing discipline on the road, I feel I should also get a driver’s licence. I am planning to enrol myself soon.
