My country India has celebrated its 77th Independence Day on Aug.15. Indians all across the globe marked this day with great fervour and enthusiasm. We in Dubai also celebrated this day by being present at the Indian Consulate to witness the flag-hoisting ceremony with fellow Indians and officials. It was amazing to be there with other Indians listening to officials. It was a moment of pride for us. I feel fortunate to have been born in India. It is an amazing country. This is one of the few countries in the world which is rooted in ancient values and tradition. India stands for its unity in diversity.

Though I am born and brought up in India, still I have not been able to explore my country fully.  It is a huge country and a diverse nation. The best thing about being Indian is that we get lots of respect outside India too. India has managed to prosper with the passage of time. In every department, India has managed to make a mark in all these years, whether it is the education sector, advancement in medical sciences, space research, technical education, entertainment or tourism. India has also produced some of the finest leaders in all these years. At the moment, we have Narendra Modi as our Prime Minister who is leading the country from the front. He can be considered as one of the most popular leaders of the world at the moment and he is taking India to greater heights.
