Heatwave, a global phenomena

Heatwave-India

Several states in India are braving intense heatwave.

As years pass, the deadly effects of global warming take place mercilessly. The heat wave in scorching summer in India claimed 170 innocent lives which is alarming for the whole world (“Days of sweltering heat, power cuts in northern India overwhelm hospitals as death toll climbs to 170,” June 19, Gulf Today website).

According to the report, a scorching heat wave in two of India’s most populous states has overwhelmed hospitals, filled a morgue to capacity and disrupted power supply, forcing staff to use books to cool patients, as officials investigate the number of deaths that has reached nearly 170.

In the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, 119 people have died from heat-related illnesses over the last several days while neighbouring Bihar state reported 47 fatalities, according to local news reports and health officials.

The world has to fight against climate change which is a deadly threat to the existence of this world. Last year hundreds of people died because of unusual flooding, heavy rains and scorching heat in different parts of the world.

The European countries experienced a deadly heat wave last year which was unbearable for many people who never experienced such a scorching summer.  There is nothing impossible to achieve in this world. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. I am sure the world is very capable of dealing with climate change when they work it out unitedly.
