Kohli-750x450

Virat Kohli

I don’t know why we fans or critics are so impatient. We adore our cricketers and we watch them playing but if they fail to score we turn impatient and start criticising them badly. This is very common in South Asian countries especially in India and Pakistan. It hurts me the way we treat our stars if they fail to perform. In India, people had started criticising former Indian cricketer Virat Kohli when he was going through a bad patch. Everybody thought Kohli will vanish from the scene but the legendary batter bounced back and started playing the way he would play.

Even in the ongoing Indian Premier League, he is at his best. The way he is batting and fielding shows he is still at his best.  Same I feel bad for Pakistani captain Babar Azam. He is such a classic batter who is at the top at the moment in the world rankings but people stated treating him badly after the Asia Cup.

Many former Pakistani cricketers even went on to say that Babar should be removed from the captaincy.  Many objected to his style of building his innings. This is how we treat our legends.  On Saturday in the second T20 match against New Zealand, Babar made a quick century and took Pakistan to victory. He made a brilliant century. He was flawless and at his best.

I don’t know why we are so impatient in passing a judgment against our stars. Virat, Babar and other cricketers are human beings too and they too can have personal or professional issues. We should give them time and space. They are making their country proud so they deserve respect.
