MS Dhoni

Teachers are the backbone of any civilised society and we owe a lot to them for their unconditional efforts. What we are today is all because of our teachers. It is they who hold our hands from the very beginning and shape us to be a better human being.  I completely agree with what legendary Indian cricketer M.S.Dhoni observed about teachers at the book launch ceremony in Kerala recently. Dhoni expressed that he has always been a big fan of teachers, as he had released the autobiography of techno-educationalist Prof K. K. Abdul Gaffar’s “Njaan Sakshi” (Me as the Witness).

Expressing his gratitude to his teachers, Dhoni said that the autobiography will provide an insight into Prof Gaffar’s journey and how education and students have changed over the years. While talking about teachers, Dhoni said, “Teaching is not only a profession, it is an art where they discipline students and tell them about their strengths and weaknesses to groom them. So, I have always been a big fan of the teachers I had throughout my schooling. I have never been to a college, but I think I did quite well.”  Dhoni who came all the way from his hometown Ranchi to Kasargod — the northernmost tip of Kerala, shows his respect for a teacher for sure. No wonder, Dhoni went on to become the most successful captain of the country.
