Important step

Iranian-Women

It’s a good decision by taken by the Iranian government to abolish morality police that will send the positive signal to the people of Iran.

I believe it is a good step towards the right direction as Iran has abolished morality police which was the demand of Iranian people protesting against the killing of a young woman because of scarf spat (“Iran abolishes morality police,” Dec.4, Gulf Today website).

Iranian people are exercising their right to protest and demanding justice for the innocent 22-year-old Iranian of Kurdish origin girl Mahsa Amini who died on September 16, three days after her arrest by the morality police in Tehran. According to the news, Iran has scrapped its morality police after more than two months of protests triggered by the arrest of Mahsa Amini for allegedly violating the country’s strict female dress code, local media said on Sunday. Women-led protests, labelled “riots” by the authorities, have swept Iran since the 22-year-old Iranian of Kurdish origin died on September 16, three days after her arrest by the morality police in Tehran. “Morality police have nothing to do with the judiciary” and have been abolished, Attorney General Mohammad Jafar Montazeri was quoted as saying by the ISNA news agency.

It’s a good decision by taken by the Iranian government to abolish morality police that will send the positive signal to the people of Iran that the government is keen to address the demand of protesters who are demanding justice for Mahsa Amini cruel murder.
