The meeting between American President Joe Biden, the only superpower in the world, and Chinese President Xi Jinping that took place at a luxury resort hotel in Indonesia, where they are attending the Group of 20 summit of large economies, brought the hope of peace and stability in the world (“Xi, Biden shake hands as Bali summit begins,” Nov.14, Gulf Today website).

As reported, Biden smiled as Xi greeted the US leader with a “good to see you,” kicking off what is expected to be two hours of intensive talks.

White House aides have repeatedly sought to play down any notion of conflict between the two nations and have emphasized that they believe the two countries can work in tandem on shared challenges such as climate change and health security. The picture of Joe Biden and Xi Jinping at a luxury resort hotel in Indonesia is making headlines all over the world which is a sign of relief as well.  Where there’s a will there’s a way. I am sure peaceful negotiations between the two stakeholders can resolve all the outstanding deadly disputes and pave the way for a peace road map.
