The weather has started to cool, spice pumpkin lattes and other glorious smells of fall fill the air whenever you walk past a coffee shop. It is the perfect time of year to indulge in a good horror movie or two. This week we have compiled a list of some of the most exciting spooky films you need to be watching this month.

Last year’s “Malignant” by director James Wan received positive reviews from audiences and critics. Starring Annabelle Wallis, the film tells the story of a young pregnant woman with a mysterious past who starts to have visions of people being murdered. These visions turn out to be happening in real life.

In 2020, the science fiction horror “The Invisible Man” was released. Written and directed by Leigh Whannell, the movie stars Elisabeth Moss, who is probably best known for her role in the show “The Handmaid’s Tale.” In the movie, Moss’s character believes she is being stalked and taunted by her ex-partner who is supposedly dead. The film was a huge commercial success grossing a total of $142 million worldwide after only costing $7 million to make. Interestingly, the film was inspired by H. G. Wells’ novel of the same name.

If an older movie is more up your street, then “The Silence of the Lambs” is definitely for you. While we are sure most of you have seen this hit horror, it is worth watching again. The 1991 film stars Anthony Hopkins as the psychotic serial killer Hannibal Lector, and Jodie Foster as Clarice Starling, a young FBI agent who needs Lector’s help to stop another serial killer. The film was and still is a hit.
