Uncertain future

Ramiz-Raja

It is very sad to see that many Pakistani news channels and independent YouTubers talking about the future of Pakistan Cricket Board’s Chairman Rameez Raja after the fall of the PTI government.

A few of them have already asked Rameez to resign from the post on their respective channels. Rameez was asked to join as PCB Chairman at the request of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan to help PCB develop its institution.  And we also know that Rameez has a very good relationship with Imran.

Now, we know that Imran is no more at the helm of affairs so people have doubts about Rameez’s future as a chairman.

I feel Rameez should be respected for what he has done in only six months for cricket. He has managed to bring in positive change in Pakistan cricket. I request the new prime minister to keep politics aside from PCB.

Let cricket be the top priority for PCB. We know that Rameez is one of the finest men for the job, so he should be allowed to continue as chairman. Cricket in Pakistan has just started crawling after a long time, so let it go independently. Any political interference will hinder the growth of the game. So let Rameez build his innings.
