When a movie has a role played by a specific actor that is loved by audiences, the actor playing that role should not be changed, right? Well, that isn’t always the case. This week we take a look at some of the cases of actors being recast and changed, much to the upset of their fans.

When I think of “The Mummy” movies, I immediately think of Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz as the main characters. The pair did so well together and really made the movies great in my opinion. So when the third movie of the franchise came out it was very disappointing to not see Weisz in it. She reportedly did not like the script of “The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor” and she was swapped with actress Maria Bello. Fans did not appreciate the switch and the movie didn’t do as well as the first two.

The legendary late Robin Williams had a lot of drama with Disney after they ignored his request to not use his voice for anything other than the voiceover role of the Genie in “Aladdin.” Williams did not want his voice to be used for any merchandising products, which it was. He did not take part in the sequel “The Return of Jaffar” and the role of Genie was not the same without him. Disney issued a public apology and Williams went on to voice the role of Genie in “Aladdin and the King of Thieves.”

In other news this week, turn to our Health pages to read about how acupuncture can restore thyroid balance in the body. Acupuncture is underrated, it is good for so many things. Thyroid disorders are so common now with a lot of people having to take medication for life. It is worth searching for holistic approaches that may help, all under the supervision of your doctor of course.
