Every year we would visit the Indian Consulate, Dubai, on the occasion of India’s Republic Day with family and friends to witness cultural celebrations. We would listen to the speech of Consul General of India in Dubai.  It used to be a great moment for kids and family. But due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we did not attend the function, hence kids are missing it. Hope we can start going back once the pandemic gets over. It used to be great moments for all of us. Indians living in the UAE dressed in traditional outfits would assemble to be part of the flag-hoisting ceremony. We would get emotional on this day. We all grew up celebrating Independence Day and Republic Day. It used to be a moment of pride for all of us.

We would recall the contribution of our freedom fighters and this knowledge we have passed onto our kids. We should tell our children about the relevance of Republic Day.  We have celebrated 73rd Republic Day on Wednesday and we feel proud of being Indian. It is our constitution which is supreme and this is what has kept India intact. Hats off to our leaders who made such a solid foundation. Jai Hind!
