UAE’s Flag Day

VP-Flag-Day-2-750-450

The UAE Flag Day is a national occasion to demonstrate pride in the country’s milestones.

There are more than 200 nationalities living and working in the UAE and there is no doubt that the UAE Flag Day is a national occasion to demonstrate our pride in the country’s milestones and highlight our shared destiny, said Dr Yousef Mohammed Al Serkal, Director-General of the Emirates Health Services (“UAE flag a symbol of sovereignty, unity: EHS,” Gulf Today, Nov.3).

The UAE is a constitutional federation of seven emirates. Abu Dhabi city is the capital of the UAE.

I totally agree with Dr Yousef that celebrating this national occasion every year will further enrich the concepts of positive citizenship and will stimulate the UAE people to build on their country’s civilised and human achievements.

The UAE is a politically and economically stable country and holds the 25th position globally in the Global Competitiveness Report 2019 by the World Economic Forum.

Through this annual occasion, the UAE people practically demonstrate what a united and cohesive society means while committing to the values established by our founding fathers.

In addition, it stands out as one of the 10 largest donor states in official development aid.
