The UAE takes considerable care of its citizens, in all earnestness. And that includes taking into account the housing needs of the Emiratis. In a new manifestation of this, The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, through the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme, has announced the delivery of newly constructed homes to 1,726 UAE nationals across the emirates of Dubai, Ras Al Khaimah and Ajman.

Suhail Bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, said that the programme will continue offering eligible Emirati citizens keys to their new homes, as per the approved lists, noting that the new batch of villas to be delivered includes 888 units in Bateen Al Samar, Ras Al Khaimah, 497 in Al Muntazi, Ajman, and 341 in Al Khawaneej, Dubai, totalling over Dhs2 billion.

He affirmed that these plans show the extent of the UAE leadership’s support to its people, and their dedicated efforts to ensure family stability and better quality of life across the UAE community. He explained that the new residential projects have been designed as per the highest standards in terms of facilities, infrastructure and services.

Al Mazrouei further noted that the UAE launched a number of ambitious initiatives aimed at optimising house models to cut construction cost and improve the lifespan of units, as well as providing for the future needs of citizens in terms of financing options and solutions, through partnerships with Emirates Development Bank and several other national banks.

That’s not all. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region, directed the construction of a number of houses for UAE citizens in Al Sila’ City in continuation of the urban developments previously carried out in the region.

This came as Sheikh Hamdan met a number of Emiratis born in Al Sila’ city to check on their living conditions as part of the directives of the UAE’s wise leadership to ensure a decent life for UAE citizens.

Earlier, in his capacity as Ruler of Dubai, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum approved the allocation of 4,000 land plots and houses to citizens of Dubai at a cost of Dhs5.2 billion, as part of the first phase of an Emirati housing programme.

His Highness has also raised the limit for interest-free housing loans to Dhs1 million for eligible categories.

Sheikh Mohammed said housing and social infrastructure projects represent one of the government’s highest priorities. “Our housing projects are developed after taking into consideration the needs of the entire family as part of our efforts to create an environment that promotes social welfare and cohesiveness,” His Highness said.

Dubai’s policies have always sought to address all aspects of social welfare and it continues to allocate resources to projects that bring happiness and prosperity to its citizens. One of the key focuses of the sustainable development plans is meeting the housing requirements of Emiratis over the next 20 years. Achieving this objective requires the optimal utilisation of land plots, based on projections for population growth, which is among the major objectives of the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan.

Abu Dhabi housing projects reflect the leadership’s vision and commitment to providing high-quality housing that enhances the wellbeing of Emiratis in line with the highest international standards, by launching housing initiatives and programmes that meet the needs of the citizens in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and contributes to further developing their residential environment, and provide them with the needed housing services that accommodate the requirements of Emirati families.

Even the elderly are not overlooked. The UAE is keen to create the suitable conditions and harness available capacities to provide the appropriate care for senior citizens during the health crisis witnessed by the entire world caused by the coronavirus, COVID-19, pandemic.
