Relief for Assange

Julian Assange

Julian Assange

I’m relieved for Julian Assange that he will not be extradited to the US, because the Donald Trump administration would have found a way to kill him legally (“UK judge rejects US extradition request for Julian Assange,” Jan. 4, Gulf Today).

It’s sickening, the leader that Trump is. Even in the last few days in office he has refused to grant pardon to people on death row. A country as powerful as the US purports it is, is afraid of a single man, Julian Assange. And what wrong has he done? In fact the world must thank him for bringing to light the true face of America. The proverbial cup that’s clean on the outside and full of dirt on the inside. Atrocities in Iraq, atrocities against the blacks, atrocities in Flint, atrocities in Nagasaki and Hiroshima.

“Developed”, “powerful”, “wealthy” are terms oft used to describe this nation but it is worse than any third world country on this planet.

Since the US is thirsty for the blood of Assange, they must apply the same measures to bring in the Russian hackers who have been hacking into government systems for months now.
