It is indeed unfortunate, that when the human race is facing its biggest battle against an uncontrollable disease, some nations are engaged in political strife. The stresses between US-Iran, US-China, etc., should all recede into the background (“Iran’s Revolutionary Guard says it launched satellite amid US tensions,” April 22, Gulf Today).
The human race is engaged in its biggest survival battle, with a disease which we have not yet understood, for which we yet do not yet have a globally accepted set of medicines to treat, neither have a vaccine to prevent it. May I as a humble, ordinary citizen of this world, request all Presidents and Prime ministers across the world, to suspend all border disputes, trade disagreements, etc., till we resolve COVID-19? At stake is the very survival of the human race. This is a time, for all nations to join forces, irrespective of ideology and religion, to defeat a disease that threatens all of us. We cannot afford to fail.
