ON CORONAVIRUS

Last night was a dreadful night. I wanted to reach my destination, but I couldn’t. I couldn’t move because the roads were jammed by a ruthless and an invisible traffic in the shape of a virus, visible only to the victim. Despite my repeated pleas the controller of traffic, Destiny, didn’t budge.

I returned home and decided to eat my meal. While I was worried about the taste of my food, they (my fellow human beings) were worried about burying their dead because their cities were running out of space to accommodate the ever-increasing number of the virus’ target. I switched off the TV after I felt bad, then I felt guilty and then I felt ashamed because thousands are leaving us without notice and on an hourly basis and we f…… can’t do a thing about it. Where have the inventors of pistols, guns, tanks, missiles, gone? Let them come out and kill the enemy, which is invisible. But what is not invisible is its marauding prowess.

Their inventions made heroes out of absolute wimps. They did so by weaponising them to brutally oppress the weak and the helpless for centuries in the name of administration, but the one-sided affair couldn’t have gone on forever. We can’t deny that the biggest digger of graves one day slips into it, but power numbs one to that certainty.

Therefore, the Creator of the inventor and the invention had to intervene. And He did. And His entry had to be the way it has been.

Also, we are terribly handicapped by the absence of a Noah.

What do the above scientists have to say now?

Humanity has become COVID-19’s dartboard. The divine sergeant is rampaging through the man-made abode of tranquillity with impunity.

With a heart that bleeds, and bleeds for the dead, allow me to say that it is becoming unbearable that stylish Italy should be seen as humanity’s grief and not fashion capital; should be seen as humanity’s woeful and not joyful capital; should be seen as humanity’s scary and not colourful capital.

The story doesn’t even change in places as advanced as New York.

The governor of the city urgently appealed for medical volunteers on Monday amid a “staggering” number of coronavirus deaths, as he and health officials warned that the crisis unfolding in New York City is just a preview of what other US communities could soon face.
“Please come help us in New York now,” Governor Andrew Cuomo said as the state’s death toll climbed by more than 250 people in a day to a total of over 1,200, most of them in the city.

Well, what do we do? Simple: Go down on our knees and say sorry to Him. Let’s beg for His canopy because nothing can be safer.
