To mitigate the repercussions of COVID-19 pandemic, the UAE Central Bank (CBUAE) has decided to reduce by half the reserves requirements for demand deposits for all banks, from 14 per cent to 7 per cent.
The Central Bank of the UAE announced on Monday that it will cut interest rates, beginning on Monday (March 16), following US Federal Reserve cuts to contain the economic repercussions of coronavirus, COVID-19.
"The government has worked remotely with efficiency, during the past months and today it is completing its works from the field after the return of the employees to work," said Sheikh Mohammed while chairing a virtual meeting of the UAE Cabinet, on the first day of government employees returning to work at their offices.
The number of economic incentives launched by the Federal Government and local governments in the country’s emirates exceeded 100 over 45 days, as per a survey conducted by the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority.
