With the Emmy Awards due to take place six months from now in September, we have ample time to look at all the possible contenders. This week we have listed which shows you need to be watching in the run up to the Emmys, which honour the best of prime time television.

The comedy series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has won 16 Emmy awards for the first two seasons out of 34 received nominations. The show centres around a housewife in the 60s, played by Rachel Brosnahan, who decides she wants to become a stand-up comedian. Critics expect the love to continue for the comedy show at this year’s awards.

Playing one of her most challenging roles is what could earn Nicole Kidman another Emmy award. Kidman plays a therapist in the upcoming drama miniseries The Undoing, which is due for release in May. Her life begins to unravel after she learns her husband is not who she thought he was. Hugh Grant and Donald Sutherland have also been given main roles in the psychological thriller.

The Crown is no stranger to awards and nominations having already gained 26 nominations and eight wins for its first two seasons. Claire Foy was playing the young Queen Elizabeth II but was replaced by Olivia Colman as the show jumped forward by a decade. It remains incredibly popular among viewers as the obsession with all things royal and British doesn’t seem to be going away.

In other news this week, turn to our Health pages to read about the different types of acne and how to treat it at home. Natural remedies to try include tea tree oil, which can be used topically, as well as zinc which can work wonders for the skin.
