The FedEx magic lives on. Dubai has been Roger Federer’s favourite hunting ground and he scripted history this edition by defeating Stefanos to win his 100th title of his career.

The Swiss master deserves praise for the sheer longevity of his career.

He is still rewriting history two decades after his foray into tennis.

Though it was a straight-sets win for Federer at the Aviation Club, not many had thought it would be that easy, considering that Stefanos had knocked Fed out a few months back at the Australian Open.

 But that is what the 37-year-old tennis great has been doing for the past two decades. Bouncing back with renewed vigour, after every defeat.

After Stefanos’ Australian heroics, most tennis fans, including myself, thought that the Greek’s win over Federer heralded a change of guard moment.

But the Dubai final has proved that Stefanos has some way to go before he can move past the top bracket consisting of Djokovic and Nadal.
