The Military Public Prosecutor has ordered several suspects to the Court Martial following accusations of abuse of official authority, specifically involving the procurement of unwarranted exemptions and exceptions as well as the falsification of records regarding the completion of national and reserve service.
Investigations revealed that the charges included the falsification of official data, documents and medical reports with the aim of enabling certain recruits to bypass established procedures.
The military prosecution brought charges against the defendants, who were public officials and military personnel, assigning to each individual the specific accusations corresponding to their respective roles, for adjudication before the military judiciary.
National service is a duty, an honour and a responsibility toward the nation and upholding the integrity of its procedures reinforces justice and equality in the fulfillment of this duty, while protecting national obligations from any form of transgression or exploitation, said the Military Public Prosecutor.
He further emphasised that anyone found to be involved in circumventing national service or in abusing their position to facilitate such actions would be prosecuted, stressing that those accused would be held accountable before the military judiciary in accordance with the law.
