Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport announced that flights would resume on Sunday after a two-week closure following attacks by Yemen’s Houthis on the Saudi capital, even as the group warned of further strikes.
The flight-tracking website Flightradar showed an aircraft departing Riyadh early Sunday, bound for the Saudi city of Jeddah.
In a post on X on Saturday, the airport said that, effective Sunday, Terminal 1 would handle domestic flights, while Terminal 2 would serve international flights operated by national carriers.
The Houthis and Saudi Arabia have been exchanging strikes, while fighting between the Houthis and Yemeni government forces has continued since hostilities resumed in Yemen in July.
The Houthis have intensified their attacks on Saudi Arabia, including strikes on Riyadh Airport. One attack on October 10 killed 13 people and injured hundreds more.
