ABU DHABI: Abu Dhabi Family, Civil, and Administrative Cases Court ordered a company to pay Dhs25,000 to a man in compensation for the injuries his 6-year-old daughter sustained while boarding an amusement ride.
The incident occurred while the man’s daughter was attending an entertainment festival with her family. When the girl and her brother attempted to board one of the rides, the staff refused to allow the family’s maid to accompany her, though she was very little. Once the ride was set in motion, the girl’s left leg got trapped in one of its metal components, resulting in multiple fractures and injuries.
Earlier, a man filed a lawsuit against a company, in which he requested the court to obligate it to pay Dhs100,000 in compensation for material, moral and psychological harms her daughter sustained plus legal interest at nine per cent from the date the lawsuit was filed.
He also requested the court to obligate the company to all the incurred charges, expenses and lawyer’s fees.
The man pleaded that while his daughter was playing one of the well-known entertainment games with her brother, those in charge of the game refused to allow the maid accompanying her to board with her.
When the game was running, the girl’s left leg was stuck in one of its iron parts, causing her to suffer multiple fractures and injuries, without the officials taking the initiative to stop the game or call an ambulance, he said, adding that he was then forced to transport his daughter himself to the emergency department.
According to the medical report, the girl sustained a closed fracture of the left tibia as well as injuries to the knee area including bruising, a dislocated patella, swelling and limited range of motion.
