Abu Dhabi Police urged motorists to take caution and abide by safe driving guidelines during the rainfall and unstable weather conditions expected over the coming days, stressing the importance of checking weather forecasts before setting out, reducing speeds and avoid tailgating to ensure the safety of all road users.
They warned against the dangers of approaching overflowing wadis and areas where rainwater accumulated, underlining the need to follow the instructions of the competent authorities.
They also urged drivers to remain focused on the road by avoiding distractions such as using mobile phones to take photos and to abide by the speed limits displayed on traffic signs and electronic advisory boards.
Meanwhile, the Traffic and Patrols Directorate underscored the importance of driving with caution and attentiveness during unstable weather conditions, particularly given the potential for reduced visibility and the risk of vehicles skidding on wet roads.
Abiding by traffic regulations and adopting preventive measures help reduce accidents and enhance the safety of both drivers and other road users, it said.
