The Emirates Drug Establishment (EDE) has initiated a precautionary recall of a particular batch of medical face masks: Nin 160 FMB-NML Facemask C G blue 3PLY (Batch No. 20251015), due to concerns over product quality. This decision was made after receiving a quality-related complaint and conducting inspections that revealed foreign matter or signs of contamination in some units from this batch.
The EDE has ordered the immediate withdrawal of all units from the affected batch currently distributed in the UAE market. These products must be quarantined and isolated, with no further circulation or redistribution allowed. Additionally, a report detailing the total quantities imported, distributed, recalled, and still in stock, along with a comprehensive distribution list within the country, is required.
Healthcare providers, health facilities, and pharmaceutical establishments must stop selling, supplying, distributing, and using the affected batch immediately. They are instructed to take inventory, isolate, quarantine all available stock, and return it to the local supplier while keeping records of the quantities inventoried, isolated, and returned.
The Establishment also encouraged reporting any quality complaints or adverse incidents through its approved channels. It advised the public to discontinue use of any masks from batch number 20251015, return them to the purchase point or supplier, and report any quality concerns or adverse incidents using the reporting channels sanctioned by the Emirates Drug Establishment.
