Dubai opens Trade Centre surface intersection to enhance traffic flow

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has opened the surface-level intersection of the Trade Centre as part of the Trade Centre roundabout improvement project.

The move is aimed at enhancing traffic flow and improving mobility efficiency across several key corridors and roads in the area.

Converting the roundabout into a surface intersection doubled the intersection's capacity and reduced traffic delay from 12 minutes to 90 seconds, thereby enhancing traffic flow and shortening travel times for road users, RTA said.

The new intersection ensures smoother traffic flow for motorists traveling from Sheikh Zayed Road towards 2nd December Street and for those coming from Al Mustaqbal Street towards Sheikh Zayed Road (southbound).

It also enables free-flowing traffic from 2nd December Street to Al Majlis Street, which leads to Al Mustaqbal Street and Sheikh Rashid Street towards Deira area.
