Work is progressing around the clock on the Al Taawun Tunnel project, with teams working continuously to complete the opening of the intersection above the tunnel in the near future.
While preparations are under way to open the intersection, construction work is continuing on the underground tunnel, which is a key infrastructure project aimed at improving traffic movement between Sharjah and Dubai.
The project is expected to significantly ease congestion in the Al Taawun area and improve connectivity for motorists travelling between the two emirates. Once completed, it is expected to reduce waiting times by up to 85 per cent, helping drivers save valuable time and effort during their daily journeys.
The round-the-clock work reflects the importance of the project in addressing traffic pressure along one of the key routes connecting Sharjah and Dubai. The improved road infrastructure is also expected to enhance the overall efficiency of traffic movement and provide motorists with a smoother and more convenient journey.
With work continuing on the underground section, the opening of the intersection above the tunnel will mark another important step towards the completion of the wider project.
The Al Taawun Tunnel project forms part of ongoing efforts to develop road infrastructure and improve mobility between the two emirates, while supporting the growing movement of residents and commuters along this vital corridor.
