VIDEO: Saudi arrests man accused of harassing worshippers at Grand Mosque, causing panic

Saudi authorities announced on Friday the arrest of an individual who deliberately harassed worshippers and incited panic and alarm among them at a specific location.

They refuted claims circulating on social media — specifically rumours alleging that the accused had attempted to blow himself up.

According to a statement issued by Saudi Public Security via the platform "X," security forces in the Holy Capital arrested the individual for harassing passersby and causing panic and alarm among them.

The statement confirmed that police intervened immediately, took the necessary legal measures against the accused, and referred the case to the Public Prosecution.

Saudi authorities emphasised that the claims regarding the incident circulating on social media are baseless, stressing the importance of obtaining information from official sources.
