With 10 daily trips between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, Etihad Rail passenger service begins

On Wednesday morning, the "Etihad Rail" network commenced its first passenger journeys, marking the official start of the national rail service connecting Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
This launch signifies a new chapter in rail travel between these cities, as part of an extensive network linking various locations across the UAE.

Starting from early morning, the station at Mohammed Bin Zayed City in Abu Dhabi witnessed a significant number of travellers eager to embark on the inaugural trips to Dubai.
After completing pre-boarding procedures, passengers boarded the train bound for Al Yalayis station in Dubai, officially inaugurating the service between the two cities.

Etihad Rail offers 10 daily trips between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, as well as six daily trips connecting Abu Dhabi and Fujairah. The service ensures convenient travel options throughout the day, providing guaranteed seating and advance booking opportunities, thus catering to passengers' needs for their daily commutes.
Ticket prices begin at Dhs29 for Standard Class and Dhs89 for Premium Class. The train accommodates 400 passengers and reaches speeds of up to 200 km/h.

The service offers two classes, Standard and Premium, equipped with amenities such as free Wi-Fi, device charging ports, luggage storage, and guaranteed seating. Tickets can be purchased via the Etihad Rail app, the website, or at station vending machines.

An integrated transport network ensures seamless travel with connections to public transport, taxis, buses, and private car services. Etihad Rail aims to transport 10 million passengers annually once fully operational, expanding its network with new stations to better connect cities and regions within the country.

Over 150,000 passengers have already taken advantage of the initial service between Abu Dhabi and Fujairah, with high rates of repeat ridership.
Etihad Rail continues to use passenger feedback to improve the travel experience as it extends its network.
