The Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT) in Abu Dhabi displayed, at its pavilion in the (LIVEX 2026), advanced technologies based on artificial intelligence within a unified system for managing monitoring operations and preserving public appearance, supporting its efforts towards transitioning to an "AI Native" model in city management.
Sheikha Al Shehhi, public appearance management planning analyst at the DMT, said that the system relies on a unified smart platform which connects various data sources and field technologies to provide a real-time and accurate picture of the urban reality. The system, she added, includes 1,300 smart cameras distributed across intersections and tunnels in the Emirate, analysing movement and violations automatically and around the clock.
It also includes 66 inspection vehicles equipped with smart monitoring technologies and is characterised by the integration of several systems together to collect data from all these sources and analyse them within a single platform, and link directly to inspection systems, to take immediate actions based on data, Al Shehhi added.
