Dubai Taxi and Dubai Police sign deal to educate taxi drivers on professional interaction with tourists

The General Department of Criminal Investigation at Dubai Police signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Dubai Taxi, with the aim of enhancing cooperation and integration in the fields of tourism security and visitor service in the Emirate, developing mechanisms for handling lost and found items, and implementing joint initiatives which contribute to providing a safe and distinguished tourism experience.

The memorandum was signed on behalf of Dubai Police by Brigadier Omar Ali Ahmed Al Mutawa Al Shehhi, Assistant Director of the General Department for Criminal Security Affairs, and on behalf of Dubai Taxi by Mansoor Rahma Al Falasi, CEO of the group, in the presence of a group of officers and officials from both sides.

The memorandum aims to raise the level of cooperation and coordination between the two sides in areas related to tourism security and visitor service, and to enhance awareness among Dubai Taxi drivers and employees regarding best practices in professional interaction with tourists, and to consolidate a culture of warm reception and service quality, which contributes to enriching the visitor experience during their movement in the Emirate, and reflects Dubai's distinguished advanced levels in security, services, and quality of life.

The areas of cooperation also include implementing joint initiatives and programmes to enhance the awareness of tourists and visitors regarding security and safety, and mutual participation in tourism events, exhibitions, and occasions.

It also aims to enhance cooperation in the field of lost and found items, by educating drivers on the importance of checking the vehicle after each trip and verifying that there are no belongings or items left by passengers, and handling them according to approved procedures, and delivering them to the nearest police station, ensuring they are quickly secured and the necessary measures are taken to return them to their owners.
