The Federal Traffic Council convened its fifth meeting of 2026 through a video conference, led by Brigadier Engineer Hussain Ahmed Al Harthi, alongside council members and representatives from strategic partners.
The discussions centered on enhancing road safety and improving response times to traffic accidents and emergencies. The Council evaluated the outcomes of various traffic-related initiatives and awareness campaigns designed to boost adherence to safety regulations.
Additionally, the meeting reviewed the results of the "Accident-Free Day" initiative, which took place on the first day of the school year and successfully recorded zero traffic fatalities.
A total of 385,700 individuals participated, pledging their commitment to safe driving. To further encourage compliance with traffic laws, participants who avoided causing accidents that day received a deduction of four traffic points.
