UAE blocks 200 social media accounts for promoting unlicensed domestic worker services

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) carried out inspections in collaboration with the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority.

During the first half of 2026, approximately 200 social media accounts were shut down for promoting domestic worker recruitment and employment services without the necessary licenses or affiliation with licensed recruitment offices by the Ministry.

MoHRE emphasised its commitment to maintaining oversight through a comprehensive system that integrates field inspection teams, electronic monitoring, tracking systems, and AI technologies to identify and address illegal practices. This effort aims to protect employers and families while ensuring they access safe and reliable services from approved providers.

The Ministry expressed gratitude to TDRA for its support in closing unlicensed accounts, highlighting how coordinated government efforts help curb illegal activities and enhance the domestic worker services market's reliability.
